Wrestling News September 9, 2005
The big news of the week is WWE’s legal team cracking down on people who may bee violating the company’s intellectual property. It started with news of the Dudley Boyz last week and spread to “brother” Spike. Well now you can also add in some other prominent WWE owned ring names such as Billy Kidman, Justin Credible and many of the ECW names and trademarks that will appear as part of the Hardcore Homecoming tour. Also, WWE wants the owner of a Vader fansite to hand the rights over to Leon White because of how his WWE Legends contract is worded.
WWE also fired one of their new writers this week. World Wrestling Entertainment dropped creative team member Rudy Fischmann, who had been with the company about 8-12 weeks. Fischmann had a reputation for "acting markish" according to one source and for talking down to wrestlers despite his relatively low position on the creative team's totem poll.
One of the last straws was said to have been Fischmann browbeating and yelling at Ashley Massaro and Torrie Wilson after their match on Monday. Despite the Divas being told by several road agents and even Vince McMahon that the bout (which obviously didn't go well) was OK, Fischmann loudly complained that it wasn't what he wanted out of the segment.
SD: He must not have much experience in production if he thinks that a writer can act that way on set. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this was his first mainstream gig.
In other WWE creative news, Dusty Rhodes is officially a writer for SmackDown. The Dusty Finish is sure to bring fans back!
ROH News & Notes:
- Colt Cabana and Steve Corino will face Homicide and Low Ki in a Dream Partner tag team match when ROH debuts in Cleveland on Friday October 14th. This is Low Ki’s Cleveland wrestling debut. This match makes me happy in the pants!
- Jack Evans is healed up, training, and set to return on 10/1 in Manhattan, 10/2 in Philadelphia, 10/14 in Cleveland and 10/15 in Buffalo. Seeing Jack Evans wrestling live will also make me happy in the pants!

And finally, apparently Christie Hemme trained Raw Diva Search 2005 winner Ashley Massaro to be a wrestler.
